#1 It’s all about Qi.

Qi.. the word...

To cut the chase, Feng Shui is the study of managing and harnessing Qi. Qi is the primodial life force that pervades within the universe. You may recall the Star Wars saga: ‘May The Force be with you!’. Precisely…

Qi

A Feng Shui consultant or Master is someone who has learned the art of locating, managing and harnessing Qi for the benefit of the community. You’d be wondering, How do I control the Qi? Qi cannot be controlled. Like nature, it cannot be controlled by any human being. It’s unseen by untrained eye. But for those who are acute to its presence, they would be able to feel it. Qi can be beneficial or harmful. Beneficial Qi is called ‘生氣’ [Sheng Qi] and the latter is known as ‘煞氣’ [Sha Qi].

These Qi comes from the 8 directions. Qi is also influenced by the mountain ranges and rivers. The Term ‘風水’ Feng Shui literally meaning ‘Wind and Water’ encompasses th primary study of this art. Qi is dispersed by wind and contained by water. So, Feng Shui masters would walk the mountains, wade the rivers and search the trails to locate where the most auspicious spot for burials.

It’s definitely about the Qi.
